DO'S

  • Hand Hygiene, Wash Hands: If you find your hands are dirty, wash it with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and dry it completely. If your hands are not dirty and if you don't find water, make use of sanitizer containing 60% alcohol and rub  it in hands.
          Make a habit of washing hands whenever:
  1. You come from outside,
  2. If you have touched any contaminated surfaces or frequently touched surfaces,
  3. Before cooking and eating food,
  4. After using the bathroom,
  5. After sneezing or Coughing.
  • Maintain Social Distance, Avoid Crowded Places: Corona Virus is transmitted by airborne droplets, when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It travels around 1 m in the air and then drop on the surfaces. Hence Social distance is the most important step to break the chain of transmission of Virus.
  • Cover your mouth and Nose: For a healthy person, cloth mask or handkerchief works. Healthcare professionals and others working in health care facilities must use surgical mask and N-95 mask.
      Leave the masks for people who really needs them like the Sick or Health care Workers.
  • Drink Plenty Of Water/Fluids and eat nutritious foods: This is not the treatment of course, but are very helpful in improving immunity. Drinking plenty of water may flush out other bacteria  and viruses. Nutritious foo d rich in vitamins and minerals help to increase the production of white blood cells required to fight against disease.
  • Learn The Symptoms: Common symptoms are Fever, Shortness Of Breath and Cough. At first consult with doctor on phone and follow the instructions. If symptoms worsen visit the doctor. Also when yo go to visit doctor, cover your mouth and nose with cloth or mask.
  • Throw used tissue papers into closed bins immediately after use. If you have used handkerchief, wash it in warm water by adding a little quantity of bleaching solution and then sun dry.
  • Avoid participating in gatherings. Avoid public transportation.
  • Stay at home unless very necessary. Wear a mask and if possible gloves if you go out.
  • Limit your contact with pets and animals and if you come in contact with pets immediately wash hands.
  • Make use of electronic devices to be in touch with your closed ones and relatives instead of meeting them.
  • Work from home instead of at the office. Avoid or postpone large meetings and conferences. Video conferences works.
  • Switch to online education classes.
  • Self-Quarantine yourself at home if you are unwell and follow on how to take care at home.
  • Clean the surfaces directly with wet mope instead of dry mope. In dry mopping there are chances of virus being blown in air again. Make a habit of cleaning most frequently touched surfaces with disinfectant.
  • Maintain good ventilation to protect members from the spread of virus.
  • Extra precautions for elderly and people with pre-existing disease like diabetes, asthma when they move out in the public places. Rather make them stay home.
  • In case of children, educate them to cover their mouth and nose with cloth when they cough or sneeze. Clean their toys at least once a day. Engage them in indoor activities. Provide them plenty of fluids and nutritious foods.
  • For breastfeeding, the mother should take extra precautions to protect transmission and make use of mask, wash hands before and after contact with the child.
  • Check the information shared on TV, Internet and Social media . Make sure the facts are right.
  • Make a habit of maintaining physical and mental health by doing physical exercise, yoga and meditation at home.
  • Delay or cancel your trips to other affected countries.
  • Stay Updated with the latest information on how to prevent the spread of infection from reliable sources.
  • Disclose your travel history to your healthcare provider and quarantine yourself if you have returned from areas where COVID-19 is present.

  • Don't Panic. Don't Stress.
  • Don't touch your eyes, nose and mouth without washing hands.
  • No hugging, kissing and hand shaking while greeting.
  • Don't self-medicate and don't take antibiotics. Consult to your doctors before taking any medicines.

  • Don't travel unless necessary. Do not do to crowded places.
  • Don't seek any alternative treatment on whatsap and other social media.
  • Don't propagate mass hysteria by not accepting parcels and packages from Asian countries.
  • Don't skip the flu shot.
  • Don't do to the doctor unless its urgent.
  • Don't share household items like bed, spoon, towels, glasses, dishes, etc.
  • Don't ignore symptoms.
  • Don't hesitate to seek help immediately if someone in your home is experiencing symptoms like chest pain and pressure, new confusion or inability to arouse, bluish lips or face.
  • Don't rush to hospital to get tested. They might have a long waiting period and also have a chances of you catching virus. People with symptoms and travel history in past 14 days are required to be tested.
  • Don't spread rumors.
