Shankh Prakshalan: The Ultimate Body Cleanse That Will Leave You Feeling Rejuvenated!

Originating from the ancient system of Hatha Yoga, Shankh Prakshalan is an intense washing of the intestinal tract, using saline water. The term "shankh" means conch shell, and "prakshalan" refers to cleansing or purifying. The purpose of this practice is to remove accumulated toxins, debris, and waste material from the digestive tract, ensuring better digestion, absorption of nutrients, and overall wellness.

The method of Shankh Prakhalan is quite simple and can be easily incorporated into our daily routines. It is best done on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning.

Prepare the saline solution: Take about two liters of lukewarm water and add two teaspoons of non-iodized salt to it. Stir well until the salt dissolves completely. Drink the saline water (2 glasses each cycle). This should be done in a continuous, non-stop manner until the entire two liters are consumed. It is important to drink slowly and gradually to avoid any discomfort.

Engage in specific yoga poses before starting the actual process: After finishing the saline water, perform a series of yoga poses like Pawanmuktasana (Wind-Relieving Pose), Tadasana (Mountain Pose), and Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Spinal Twist). These poses help in activating and stimulating the digestive system.

Perform a series of yoga poses For Actual Process:  Asanas like

  • Tadasana (Mountain Pose): This pose helps in activating the digestive system and improving overall body stability.
  • Tiryak Tadasana (Swaying Palm Tree Pose): Tiryak Tadasana helps in stimulating the digestive organs and gentle stretching of the abdomen.
  • Katichakrasana (Standing Spinal Twist): This twisting pose helps in activating the digestive fire and promoting detoxification.
  • Tiryak Bhujangasna (Twisting Cobra Pose): activates the abdominal muscles and facilitates the release of toxins from the digestive tract.
  • Udara Karashan asana (Abdominal Twist Pose): This seated twist helps in increasing the peristaltic movement of the intestines and stimulates digestion.
Elimination process: After practicing the yoga poses, wait for a moment, and then head to the toilet. The saline water will start flushing out the toxins and waste matter from the intestines. This process might take some time, so it is best to find a comfortable spot to sit and relax.

Hydrate and replenish: Once the process is complete, it is essential to hydrate the body by drinking plenty of plain water. This helps in maintaining the body's fluid balance and prevents dehydration.
